Aspirants under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) seeking elective positions in the National and State Assemblies have commenced moves to strengthen party unity ahead of the August 15 governorship election, holding a reconciliation meeting with youth stakeholders and the party’s women wing.
The meeting, convened by Femi Oyetola alongside other APC youth aspirants, brought together party leaders, aspirants, youth groups, and women leaders to review the outcome of the party’s primary elections and chart a common path toward electoral success.
Speaking at the gathering, participants stressed the importance of reconciliation and collective responsibility, noting that the party’s chances in the forthcoming governorship election would be enhanced through unity and a shared commitment to the APC’s victory.
The forum resolved to put aside grievances arising from the recently concluded primaries and work together in support of the party and its governorship candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.
As part of efforts to strengthen party cohesion and support members during the Sallah celebration, the aspirants donated ₦30 million in cash to the Youth and Women Wings of the party. They also distributed 300 bags of 50kg rice to members as festive gifts.
Party stakeholders at the meeting described the gesture as a demonstration of commitment to the welfare of members and the overall success of the APC in the state.
The meeting was attended by the APC State Women Leader, Kudirat Fakokunde; the State Youth Leader, Goke Akinwomimo; senatorial and local government youth and women leaders; as well as aspirants for the House of Representatives and the State House of Assembly.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to mobilizing support for the APC and ensuring a united front ahead of the governorship poll.
