Former Anambra State governor, Peter Obi, and his Kano State counterpart, Musa Kwankwaso, have arrived at the national secretariat of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Abuja.

Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) and Kwankwaso, who is also a former presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), arrived amid cheers from supporters.

The two leaders who are moving to the NDC from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), are currently being hosted by NDC) leaders in a closed-door meeting.

The meeting is being attended by Moses Cleopas, National Chairman of the Party, and Seriake Dickson, its National Leader.

Obi and Kwankwaso, who came third and fourth respectively in the last Presidential election, had joined the ADC coalition seeking to unseat President Bola Tinubu.

However, following the leadership crisis in the ADC and the Supreme Court directive for the issue to be referred to the Federal High Court, both politicians said their future was uncertain in the ADC.

While the duo confirmed talks with NDC, only Obi made it clear that his stay in the ADC had ended.

But Kwankwaso asked his supporters to watch out as his next line of action would be made known soon. (Pieced together from reports by Channels TV and Daily trust)
