Gala-Osimhen

Victor Osimhen delivered another brilliant performance on Saturday night, scoring twice as Galatasaray S.K. came from behind to defeat Antalyaspor 4-2 and secure the Turkish league title.

The victory sealed Galatasaray’s fourth consecutive Süper Lig crown and the 26th league title in the club’s history.

Galatasaray looked in danger after falling behind, but the champions responded strongly in front of their home supporters. Former midfielder Mario Lemina sparked the comeback before Osimhen took centre stage with two crucial goals late in the game.

The Nigerian striker first calmly converted from the penalty spot to level the score at 2-2 after sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.

With just minutes remaining, Osimhen struck again, reacting quickly after a goalkeeper error to flick the ball into the net and put Galatasaray ahead, sending fans inside the stadium into wild celebrations.

Defender Kaan Ayhan later added a fourth goal to complete the comeback and officially kick-start the title celebrations.

The triumph also guarantees Galatasaray automatic qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League group stage.

Osimhen’s brace took his tally to 15 league goals in 21 appearances this season, continuing his impressive form since joining the Turkish giants.

The 25-year-old has now won three league titles in his professional career, including the historic Serie A triumph with SSC Napoli in the 2023/24 season.

Remarkably, Osimhen has now won a league title in each of the last three seasons, further cementing his reputation as one of Africa’s top football stars.
