Governor Ademola Adeleke has alleged that some individuals are planning to destabilise motor parks across Osun State and has directed the Commissioner of Police to take immediate steps to prevent any disruption of public order.
In a statement issued on Friday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor claimed that intelligence reports indicated that certain persons linked to opposition groups were plotting to invade motor parks in various local government areas of the state.
Adeleke described the alleged plan as an attempt to create chaos and undermine the peace currently prevailing in the state’s transport sector.
The governor noted that motor parks across Osun have remained peaceful since his administration came into office in 2023, adding that his government would not allow a return to instability and conflict.
According to the statement, the governor warned those allegedly involved in the plot to abandon the plan, stressing that his administration was already aware of the details of the alleged scheme.
“Credible reports indicted some opposition elements in this untoward plan against the peace of Osun State. We already have all the details and I warn them to drop their sinister moves,” Adeleke said.
He further disclosed that he had instructed the Commissioner of Police to take proactive measures to forestall any attempt to disrupt activities at motor parks across the state.
“I have further directed the Commissioner of Police to take pre-emptive action. The current peace and stability of our dear state must be sustained at all costs,” the governor stated.
