The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) of Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on the Spokesperson of AMBO Campaign Council Remi Omowaiye, to explain the whereabouts of security drones allegedly approved and funded during his time in office as Osun State Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology,

In a statement signed by the Chairman of its Media Committee, Rep. Bamidele Salam, the council alleged that official documents in its possession showed that €248,281.25, $6,430 and ₦2.032 million were approved for the procurement and implementation of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) surveillance project in Osun State.

According to TICC, the project was initiated through a memo reportedly signed by Omowaiye in March 2018 and included the purchase of four surveillance drones, overseas inspection visits and training for personnel expected to operate the equipment.

The council alleged that part of the funds covered foreign travel for two officials to the Netherlands and local training arrangements for ten personnel in Nigeria.

TICC further claimed the drones were planned for deployment across Osogbo, Ede, Ikire and Ilesa to strengthen security surveillance.

The campaign council questioned whether the drones were eventually supplied and demanded details of their deployment, operational records and training documentation.

It also urged APC governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, to respond to the concerns and take appropriate action if explanations are not provided.

The council argued that the matter raises concerns about transparency and accountability in the management of public funds.
