The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced planned daily power outages across several communities in Delta State as it continues preventive maintenance work on its Delta 132/33kV Transmission Substation.
In a statement posted on its official X account on Friday, TCN said the maintenance exercise commenced on June 4 and will run through June 16, 2026, between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day.
According to the company, the exercise is designed to facilitate the installation of a bus coupler circuit breaker and the rehabilitation of five isolators on the substation’s main busbar.
TCN stated that the maintenance work would result in temporary outages on several 33kV feeders supplied from the Effurun and Delta 132/33kV Transmission Substations.
The affected feeders are Effurun, Warri, Sapele, Osubi, PTI, PMSL, Refinery I, Refinery II, Enerhen, Isoko/Kwale, Otovwodo/Patani, Ughelli/Shell, Agbarho/Eku, Aladja, Imoniyame and Beta Glass.
The company, however, assured residents and businesses in the affected areas that electricity supply would be restored daily upon the completion of maintenance activities.
“Power supply will be restored daily at 5:00 p.m., enabling Benin DisCo to offtake electricity for its customers following the completion of each day’s maintenance activities,” the statement said.
TCN apologised to customers for the inconvenience caused by the exercise and appealed for understanding as it works to improve the reliability of power transmission infrastructure in the state.
