American rap star Nicki Minaj has opened up about why she no longer attends church regularly, explaining that her decision was influenced more by the demands of her career than by a change in her faith.
Speaking during a recent appearance on The Bryce Crawford Podcast, the award-winning rapper said her church attendance declined shortly after her music career began to take off.
According to Minaj, years of performing on weekends made it increasingly difficult to maintain the routine of attending Sunday services.
“Once my career started taking off, I stopped going to church. I was working on Friday nights and Saturday nights, so the last thing I could do was wake up on Sunday mornings to go to church,” she said.
Despite stepping away from regular church attendance, Minaj stressed that her relationship with God remains important to her.
The rapper explained that her absence from church should not be interpreted as abandoning her faith, adding that she continues to nurture her spiritual life in other ways.
She admitted, however, that staying consistent in her relationship with God has not always been easy.
According to Minaj, spiritual growth remains an ongoing journey and she continues striving to strengthen her faith over time.
The rapper’s comments offer a personal glimpse into how fame and the demands of a global music career can sometimes affect religious routines and personal devotion.
