The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially presented the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination form to its Oyo State governorship candidate, , while unveiling as his running mate ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The presentation took place on Thursday at a gathering attended by party leaders, stakeholders and supporters across the state.
Adedeji, 46, is an Economics graduate of and hails from Iwo-Ate in Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area of Oyo State. He is also the younger brother of the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Zach Adedeji.
Addressing party members at the event, Oyo APC Chairman and former Deputy Governor, Chief Moses Alake, called for unity among members, stressing that a united party would be better positioned to reclaim power in the state in 2027.
He urged members to put aside their differences and work collectively for the party’s success.
“By the grace of God, come May 29, 2027, our governor and deputy governor will be Senator Sharafadeen Alli and Hon. Adesoji Adedeji. I appeal to everyone to come together and work for our collective victory,” he said.
Presenting the INEC nomination form, APC Deputy National Auditor, , described Alli as the party’s standard-bearer and encouraged members to rally behind him ahead of the election.
In his acceptance speech, Alli described his emergence as the APC governorship candidate as a victory for the entire party rather than a personal achievement.
He expressed appreciation to President , the APC National Working Committee, the Oyo State chapter of the party, security agencies and party members for their support throughout the primary process.
The senator also extended gratitude to his fellow aspirants and appealed to them and their supporters to unite behind the party’s goal of returning to power in Oyo State.
According to him, achieving victory in the 2027 election would require sacrifice, commitment and unity among party faithful.
“Our people deserve a government that listens, unites and understands their challenges. They deserve leadership that serves everyone regardless of religion, ethnicity, social status or geopolitical background,” he said.
Alli pledged that, if elected governor, his administration would prioritise agriculture, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, infrastructure development, environmental sustainability and inclusive economic growth.
He added that his government would align with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by promoting transparency, fairness, accountability and people-centred governance.
“I will remain accessible, accountable and always ready to listen to the people. Together, we can restore the true Pacesetter glory of Oyo State,” he said.
Speaking after his unveiling, Adedeji thanked the APC leadership for entrusting him with the position of deputy governorship candidate and expressed confidence that the party would secure victory in the 2027 governorship election.
