The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Osun State Council, has congratulated the Governor of Osun State, His Excellency, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the August 15 governorship election in the state.
The union, led by its President, Comrade Dr. Nathaniel Kehinde Ogungbangbe, and other executives, described the governor’s victory as the will of God and the people of Osun State, particularly workers in the state.
Ogungbangbe said the outcome of the election had demonstrated that the people of Osun had chosen Governor Adeleke to continue his administration’s efforts at developing the state.
He said despite what he described as threats and opposition to the governor’s re-election, the people had spoken clearly through their votes.
According to him, “The victory is God’s will and the will of the people of Osun State, particularly the workers. The people have declared that Governor Adeleke is the man sent by God to deliver the state from darkness.”
The NULGE leadership assured the Governor of the continued support and cooperation of local government workers in the state during his tenure in office.
It urged the administration to remain committed to workers’ welfare and good governance, while pledging the union’s support for policies and programmes aimed at improving the lives of the people.
Governor Adeleke, candidate of the Accord, polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest rival, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 444,815 votes in the election.
The union said it looked forward to a successful second term that will commence in November for the Adeleke administration and greater development across the state.
