Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has condemned the arrest of the state Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Sunday Bisi, and called for his immediate release.
Adeleke made the demand in a statement issued on Saturday by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, as voting continued in the ongoing Osun State governorship election.
The governor described the arrest as a cause for concern, urging the relevant authorities to release the PDP chairman without delay.
The development comes amid heightened political activity across the state as voters cast their ballots to elect the next governor of Osun State.
Adeleke is seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party after leaving the PDP ahead of the election.
