The Independent National Electoral Commission has commenced the uploading of results from Saturday’s Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal, IReV.

As of 4:03 p.m., checks on the portal showed that results from 402 polling units had been uploaded out of the 3,763 expected results across the state.

The figure represents about 10.68 per cent of the total polling unit results expected from the election.

Data on the IReV portal showed that the latest upload, as of the time of the check, was recorded at 4:03:10 p.m. from polling unit 29/02/04/006, as the collation process continued across the state’s 30 local government areas.

The development comes as voters, political parties and election observers continue to monitor the electronic transmission of polling unit results.

The IReV platform was introduced by INEC to promote transparency in the electoral process by allowing members of the public to view polling unit-level results uploaded after voting and counting.

The Osun election is being contested by Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, who is seeking re-election, alongside the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, African Democratic Congress candidate, Najeem Salaam, and other candidates.

The commission’s Result Stats section on the portal continued to update as more results were uploaded, allowing users to refresh the platform for the latest figures.

With only a fraction of the expected results uploaded as of 4:03 p.m., attention is now focused on the pace of transmission as collation progresses from polling units to ward and local government levels.

INEC is expected to continue uploading results as the electoral process advances.
