Hull City winger Sorba Thomas escaped injury after his car was involved in a road traffic accident near the club’s training ground in Cottingham on Friday morning.

Images of the Wales international’s vehicle circulating on social media showed it overturned on its roof, prompting concern among supporters.

The crash happened on Millhouse Wood Lane, close to Hull’s training facilities.

Hull moved quickly to reassure fans, confirming that the 27-year-old was unharmed.

In a statement, the club said on Friday, “We’re relieved to confirm that Sorba Thomas is unharmed.”

“The club is aware of images of Sorba’s car circulating on social media and can reassure supporters that he has sustained no injuries and emerged from his vehicle completely unscathed,” the statement added.

The club did not disclose further details about the circumstances of the accident.
Thomas joined Hull from Stoke City on transfer deadline day and has made two appearances for the Tigers since completing the move.

He made his Hull debut as a substitute in Saturday’s 0-0 Premier League draw with Aston Villa before starting Tuesday’s 1-0 Carabao Cup defeat away to Sunderland.

Thomas’ involvement in the Sunderland match was confirmed in the starting line-up, with the winger playing the full 90 minutes.

Hull have made an impressive return to the Premier League, taking seven points from their opening three league matches without conceding a goal.

The Tigers beat Manchester United 2-0 and Coventry City 1-0 before holding Aston Villa to a goalless draw, a run that left them second in the table after three matches.

They are scheduled to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with kick-off set for 3pm.

The club has yet to indicate whether Thomas will be available for the fixture following Friday morning’s accident.
