President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Vice-President Kashim Shettima on his 60th birthday, describing him as a trusted partner whose loyalty, courage and commitment have contributed significantly to the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a congratulatory message, Tinubu also celebrated Shettima’s wife, Nana, his children, family members and political associates as the Vice-President marks the milestone.
The President described Shettima as “not just a trusted ally or a valued colleague,” but “a patriot whose life has been defined by service, commitment and sacrifice for worthy causes.”
Tinubu said Shettima’s 60th birthday was an opportunity to reflect on his distinguished career in banking and his years of service to Borno State and Nigeria.
He commended the Vice-President’s tenure as Governor of Borno State and his subsequent role as Vice-President of Nigeria, saying he had demonstrated “courage, diligence, compassion and an abiding commitment to improving the lives of the people” in both positions.
The President also praised Shettima for his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress, APC, and his support for the Federal Government’s policies and programmes.
“I acknowledge, in particular, Vice-President Shettima’s loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), support for the administration and his unwavering dedication to the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Tinubu said.
As Chairman of the National Economic Council, NEC, the President said Shettima had provided purposeful leadership in coordinating economic policies and strengthening cooperation between the Federal Government and the states.
Tinubu also credited the Vice-President with promoting constitutional governance, democratic institutions, dialogue and consultation.
According to him, Shettima’s contribution has helped strengthen the administration’s approach to governance while his loyalty and sense of duty have remained valuable to the government.
“As a trusted partner, his loyalty, wisdom and sense of duty have remained invaluable to the administration,” the President said.
Reflecting on their partnership, Tinubu thanked the Vice-President for his continued support as the administration works to fulfil its promises to Nigerians.
“I must thank Vice-President Shettima for his steadfast support and partnership as we continue to join hands in delivering the promises of Renewed Hope to Nigerians,” he said.
The President expressed confidence that their continued collaboration would help the administration make further progress in building the country they envision.
“I am confident that working together, we will continue to make meaningful progress in building the Nigeria of our dreams,” Tinubu added.
Tinubu, on behalf of the Federal Government, wished Shettima many more years of purposeful service and prayed for divine guidance, protection, wisdom and good health for the Vice-President.
He said, “May Munificent Allah grant him wisdom and good health, and bless him with many more years of purposeful service to Nigeria.”
