The mother of the slain aide of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Olalekan Oyeyemi, popularly known as Ajagungbade Emir, has broken her silence for the first time since her son was killed at a motor park in Ile-Ife.
InsightMedia reports that Oyeyemi, a member of Accord Party, was brutally murdered on Sunday at a motor park in Ile-Ife over an alleged tussle for leadership of the transport union in the state.
He was buried the following day at his residence in the Agunbeelewo area of Osogbo in accordance with traditional rites.
In a video circulating online, Oyeyemi’s mother, who was seen sitting among mourners, said she already had a premonition of the incident.
The weeping mother, who spoke in Yoruba, said she had long feared that something terrible could happen to her son.
She said, “I already knew my son’s blood would be among the blood that would be shed. I tried my best to stop the death as a mother. I can show you my phone to see some evidence of all my efforts.
“However, despite how much I tried to avert it, God knows best. I just don’t want my son’s death to affect Adeleke’s governance.”
