The family of Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonle Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has announced Tuesday October 27, 2026, for a night of tributes and service of songs in his honour, as tributes continue to pour in following his sudden death.
The event is scheduled to hold at Jogor Centre, Ibadan according to an announcement shared on the late singer’s social media page on Wednesday.
“We invite you to join us for a Night of Tributes and Service of Songs in honour of our beloved brother, friend, and gospel minister, Olayemi Bayonle Bolaji, fondly known as Toluwanisings,” the family stated.
The announcement comes a week after the gospel singer died on October 14, 2026, hours after ministering at fellow gospel artiste Bidemi Olaoba’s praise concert in Ibadan.
His death has sparked widespread grief and renewed conversations about the state of emergency healthcare services in Nigeria, particularly the challenges patients face when seeking urgent medical attention.
According to an account provided by his personal assistant, Toluwanisings reportedly slumped at his residence and was taken to several hospitals in Ibadan, where he was allegedly turned away by eight facilities because of inadequate emergency equipment.
The account has triggered public outrage on social media, with celebrities and other Nigerians questioning the country’s healthcare system and calling for improved emergency medical services.
The circumstances surrounding his death have also drawn attention to the need for hospitals to be adequately equipped to handle medical emergencies, while ensuring that patients receive timely attention.
Toluwanisings’ death has left fans, colleagues and members of the gospel music community mourning a singer whose ministry touched many through his music and performances.
The forthcoming service of songs is expected to provide an opportunity for family members, friends, fellow gospel artistes and admirers to pay their final tributes to the late singer ahead of his burial.
