Former Kano State Governor and New Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) vice-presidential candidate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has urged Nigerians to follow him on TikTok, promising to share authentic information, personal updates and content about his daily activities.
Kwankwaso announced his presence on the video-sharing platform in a post on X on Wednesday, encouraging Nigerians to connect with him directly for updates.
“I am on TikTok!
“I encourage you all to follow me there for authentic information, the latest updates, and exclusive contents directly related to my daily life,” he wrote.
The former governor also expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, declaring, “Nigeria will be OK.”
His move provides another channel for him to engage supporters and reach a wider audience as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Social media has become an increasingly important communication tool for Nigerian politicians, allowing them to share their messages directly with the public, respond to issues and connect with younger audiences.
TikTok, known for its short-form videos, has also become a platform for public figures to share personal moments, political messages and updates on their activities.
Kwankwaso’s announcement did not outline any specific political initiative on TikTok, but his presence on the platform adds to his options for communicating with supporters ahead of the 2027 elections.
