Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has met with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, where he expressed appreciation for the President’s support for major development projects in Ogun State.
Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District, disclosed the meeting in a Facebook post on Monday, saying he took time away from his ongoing political consultations to visit Tinubu following the President’s return from vacation.
The senator said the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss issues concerning Ogun State and matters of national interest.
Adeola particularly appreciated Tinubu for his support for the proposed Gateway Deep Seaport and the Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone.
“I used the occasion to personally appreciate his support for Ogun State in the MOU of $7 billion for Gateway Deep Seaport and Ogun State Blue Marine Special Economic Zone, as well as other matters of national interest relating to the ongoing implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” he said.
The projects are expected to contribute to Ogun State’s economic development by expanding its maritime infrastructure, attracting investment and creating opportunities for businesses and residents.
Adeola also expressed optimism about the country’s economic prospects under the APC-led Federal Government, citing ongoing reforms as a basis for his position.
“The future is bright as the reformist agenda of APC has laid a solid foundation for growth and prosperity,” he said.
The meeting was attended by the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
Adeola is among politicians consulting and mobilising ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State, where he is seeking the APC ticket.
