Prominent media personality Nedu has sent a pre-action notice to social media critic VeryDarkMan, accusing him of defamation following comments made on his platform.
VeryDarkMan acknowledged receiving the notice in an Instagram video, warning his followers to prepare for a legal confrontation. “Nedu’s lawyers have served me, so get ready for a court case,” he stated.
The legal team representing Nedu and Tokindrumz Picture and Media Ltd claims that a 12-minute video posted by VeryDarkMan on YouTube and Instagram on February 19, 2025, included “defamatory, false, and disparaging statements” about their clients.
The video, titled How Nedu Diverted NGO Scholarship Meant for Nigerians, was labeled as entirely false by Nedu’s legal representatives.
The notice also clarified that Nedu is not the owner of Tokindrumz, but rather a talent associated with the brand.
The notice demands that VeryDarkMan remove all videos mentioning Nedu from his platforms within 24 hours, issue a public apology, and pay N500 million in damages for the harm caused to Nedu’s reputation.
