Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), recently shared a powerful testimony about a life-threatening experience he had seven years ago during an evangelism event, caused by dangerous road conditions.
Speaking at the Special Holy Ghost Service, themed “Joy Unspeakable,” on Friday, Adeboye recalled the severe health issues he faced, which left him bedridden and forced to miss Christmas Day for the first time in his life. He fell ill in Ilesa, Osun State, and was too weak to travel by road. A helicopter was arranged to airlift him to the RCCG camp on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, but the aircraft faced obstruction from miscreants, who even damaged one of its windows.
Adeboye shared, “Seven years ago, during this same program, I completely broke down due to the bad road conditions. I spent Christmas in bed for the first time in my life. The enemy thought he had me, but by God’s grace, I made it.”
He continued, “They tried to stop the helicopter, damaging one of its windows, but I reached the camp, and I knew I would recover once I got there. Seven years later, I’m still here, and I give all the glory to God.”
Pastor Adeboye urged the congregation to join him in giving thanks to God for sparing his life.
