The speaker and the members of the Lagos State House of Assembly has arrived at the presidential Villa to meet President Bola Tinubu in Abuja.
The Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, arrived at 2:50 pm, joining his colleagues who had arrived earlier in two coaster buses.
The meeting is aimed to resolved the recent leadership crisis in the State House of Assembly, which led to Obasa’s impeachment and subsequent reinstatement after intervention from political leaders and the Governing Advisory Council (GAC).
Despite his reinstatement, tensions remain among lawmakers. as Obasa filed a corruption case against former speaker, Mojisola Meranda.
Obasa is also still in court, challenging the allegations that led to his initial removal as speaker, which include fraud, high-handedness, abuse of office, and gross misconduct.
The respondents in the suit are members of the state assembly and Mojisola Meranda.
The court is set to hear all the matters on March 17.
