James Brown, the well-known crossdresser, has temporarily reverted to his male identity due to financial difficulties.
The social media star shared the news on his Instagram account on Friday, revealing that his current struggles have led him to pause his feminine lifestyle and request assistance.
In his post, James Brown acknowledged the inquiries from his followers, stating, “Many people have been asking James, is it true you need help? I actually do. I need all the ads and promotions. In fact, I have turned to a boy right now.”
Brown also expressed his aspiration to continue his education, revealing that he needs around 30 million naira for tuition, excluding other living costs. He added, “I have reached out to some friends. If you want to support, nothing is too small.”
He followed up with another message asking for empathy, urging his followers not to mock his situation. “Don’t come laugh at someone who’s trying to put everything together to go back to school,” he wrote.
The post generated a mix of reactions from followers, with some showing support and others criticizing his decision. Instagram user Lorlah questioned the need to study abroad, suggesting that Nigerian universities could suffice.
“You can school here in Nigeria, we have good schools honestly, why spend over 50 million just to school in the UK?” Similarly, Kween Mimi asked, “Cut your coat according to your size. Must you go to school in the UK? What happened to Unilag or Uniben?” Teacher Grins advised, “Get a job, start a business. That’s what we regular people are doing.”
Some users expressed surprise at his decision to revert to a male identity. Treasure Daniel wrote, “You’ve turned into a boy? What were you before?” Abaya Gold commented sarcastically, “Now you see being a girl child is not easy, go and work.” Fleaky Susan bluntly advised, “Go and hustle like the man you are.”
This announcement has sparked a significant online conversation, with opinions divided between those offering support and others expressing skepticism about his choices.
