Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has launched a scathing attack on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, stating that it’s too late for him to acquire character and integrity.

Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, made the statement in response to Atiku’s claims that character was the reason the PDP committee rejected his choice of running mate for the 2023 election.

Olayinka alleged that Atiku’s lack of character and integrity was evident when he rejected the committee’s decision, despite initially agreeing to abide by it.

He also pointed out that Atiku’s former boss, President Olusegun Obasanjo, had described him as a “blatant and shameless liar” in his book, “My Watch”.

Wike’s camp further criticized Atiku for his alleged desperation to become president, stating that he should focus on being truthful and reliable instead.

The statement read: “Unlike Atiku, Wike does not hide or pretend where he stands on issues… It is Atiku that should start being truthful and reliable, especially now that he is old, because everything should not be about desperation to be president.”
