The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Yemi Adaramodu has dismissed recent moves by opposition politicians to form a coalition aimed at challenging President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, labeling them as mere “content creators.”
Speaking to journalists in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, Adaramodu downplayed the seriousness of the proposed alliance by figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. He described the effort as political theatrics without real substance or impact.
“Our party, the APC, is not bothered. What do you expect politicians to do? They play politics. If they’re not attacking the ruling party, they’re not doing their job. But that’s all it is — attacks, lies, and propaganda,” he said.
He emphasized that the Tinubu administration has, in under two years, introduced impactful reforms in the economy and security sectors. According to Adaramodu, these policies are already yielding positive results across the country.
He praised Tinubu’s leadership, stating, “While the APC is focused on governance — building roads and delivering dividends of democracy — the opposition is busy with political drama. It’s entertainment, and frankly, we’re enjoying the show.”
Commenting further on the opposition’s coalition plans, the senator dismissed the initiative as weak and fragmented.
“Look at those behind it — factions within the PDP, and a Labour Party that was just a Special Purpose Vehicle during the last election. It’s not organic. These efforts won’t affect our expected victories,” he added.
Adaramodu called on Nigerians to ignore the noise and instead stay committed to supporting the Tinubu administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.
