Former Accountant-General of the Federation, Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein, has urged Nigerian youths to see education as a powerful tool for personal and national development—not a scam.

Speaking at an empowerment event in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, organized by the Olowo Oloye Foundation in honor of her late father, Alhaji Surakat Oyebanjo Sanni, Madein credited education and divine grace for her rise to the top. “Without them, becoming Accountant-General would have remained a dream,” she said.

The event, hosted by the Iperu Development Association, included scholarships for 150 students, free medical care for over 500 residents, and donations of food, grinding machines, deep freezers, and dryers.

Madein encouraged students to stay committed to their studies, sharing how her education began in local schools before advancing to Ogun State Polytechnic. “Education opens doors and elevates you, no matter your background,” she said.

She also highlighted the need for community support, stating, “Government can’t do it all. We must all contribute to our communities.”

Taiwo Oyebanjo, Chairman of the Iperu Development Association, lauded Madein as a role model for giving back to her roots.
