Osun state chapter of New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, has canvassed for coalition among the political parties in Osun state with the aim of unseating Governor Ademola Adeleke in 2026.
In a release signed by its chairman, Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, NNPP observes that no individual or political party can win the forthcoming election without a joint efforts of others.
He noted that 2026 gubernatorial election in Osun is very crucial as the state has never had it so bad since its creation.
According to him, propaganda has taken over governance in Osun state and no elder statesman is bold enough to challenge the sitting governor.
Odeyemi said, “2026 gubernatorial election is very crucial to us in Osun. Findings have revealed that personality can win this election. There are individuals whose integrity will command votes even from other parties.
“If such individuals who cut across opposition parties in the state clinches the ticket, I can boldly say that 40 percent of votes will come from PDP and this will bring parties and voters together to speak with their votes.
“No party or individuals can win the forthcoming election without joint efforts and that’s why NNPP will field or support any candidate with integrity to unseat Adeleke
“Our common focus is how to rescue the state from the present occupiers. Fortunately, many people are now realising that politics goes beyond propaganda, they are abandoning their parochial party for other parties in the state”.
The Independent National Electoral Commission is expected to announce timetable for Osun governorship elections anytime from next month.
