Nollywood actress and producer Ruth Kadiri has addressed ongoing speculation about her marriage, clarifying that she isn’t concealing her husband but simply choosing to keep their relationship private.
Speaking in a recent episode of Dear Ife on YouTube (released Saturday), Kadiri revealed that from the very beginning, she and her husband made a conscious decision to keep their relationship away from the public spotlight.
This shared preference shaped their low-key wedding, which had only 50 guests.
“I invited just 50 people to my wedding. It was exactly what we both wanted. I didn’t want any drama around my relationship,” she said.
Kadiri, who hails from Edo State, got married in a private ceremony in 2019. She described their decision to maintain privacy as one of the wisest she’s made, noting that it has helped her stay centered and protect her relationship from outside interference.
“It has helped me stay grounded and define my relationship. I don’t have external factors influencing how I relate with my spouse,” she added.
She also explained that her husband is naturally reserved and prefers to avoid the public eye a dynamic that has shielded him from the pressures of being married to a public figure.
“People don’t know him, so there’s no pressure on him. He is just living his life, and he doesn’t really like attention anyway.”
Responding to public assumptions that she’s hiding her partner, Kadiri emphasized that he’s not a secret just not a public personality.
“For clarity, my husband is not a secret. People who know me, know him, and that’s enough. I’m not hiding him. We go to church and events together. People post his pictures, but just because you don’t know him doesn’t mean he’s hidden. My life is not as private as people think.”
Kadiri and her husband are proud parents of two daughters.
