The construction of new student hostels at the Kwara State College of Health Technology is nearing completion, marking a major step forward in the state’s efforts to enhance learning environments. The buildings, which have already been roofed, are expected to be officially handed over to the school management in the coming weeks.
According to Olayinka Fafoluyi, who is the Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Kwara State Governor, said the project was initiated by the administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, which is part of a broader commitment to improving student welfare and upgrading infrastructure in state-owned institutions. The new hostels are intended to replace the outdated and dilapidated structures inherited by the current government.
“These facilities were in a poor state when we came in,” the government noted. “We are now rebuilding and modernising them to provide a safe, comfortable, and conducive atmosphere for learning.”
Upon completion, the hostels will feature essential amenities such as beds, wardrobes, mattresses, and reading tables, ensuring students have access to everything they need for both rest and study.
