President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Deputy Controller-General (DCG) Olumode Samuel Adeyemi as the new Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), with effect from August 14, 2025.

The appointment was announced in a statement issued by the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), Abdulmalik Jibrin.

According to the statement, Adeyemi’s appointment follows the scheduled retirement of the current Controller-General, Engr. Abdulganiyu Jaji Olola, who will bow out of service on August 11, 2025, upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.

DCG Adeyemi, who began his career with the FCT Fire Service before transferring to the Federal Fire Service, rose through the ranks to become Deputy Controller-General in charge of the Human Resources Directorate at the Service Headquarters.

Throughout his distinguished career, Adeyemi has completed all mandatory in-service trainings, command courses, and various local and international professional development programmes. He is also a member and fellow of several professional bodies, including the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, the Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Treasury Management of Nigeria.

The CDCFIB expressed deep appreciation to the outgoing CG, Engr. Olola, for his dedication and outstanding contributions to the growth and modernization of the Federal Fire Service. The Board commended his leadership and the various initiatives he championed during his tenure.
