The Kwara State Government has announced a statewide intervention to address lingering complaints related to delayed salaries and pensions of civil servants and retirees.

According to a statement by the Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, the government has scheduled a special troubleshooting session to be held across all 16 local government headquarters from Thursday, July 31 to Monday, August 4, 2025, excluding Sunday, August 3.

Dr. Nuru explained that while the majority of civil servants and pensioners receive their entitlements without issues, a few isolated cases persist and need to be resolved conclusively.

“All affected persons — whether in active service or retired — are expected to attend in person with the following: BVN, NIN, KWSRRA Number, PSN Number, bank statement, letter of employment, official work or pension ID card, and any other relevant documents,” she said.

The sessions will be coordinated by cabinet members representing each local government area, alongside technical staff from relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

“This initiative reflects the Governor’s commitment to ensuring that every legitimate worker or pensioner receives their dues promptly. The goal is to clear up all pending complaints once and for all,” the statement added.
