Popular TikTok content creator, Peller has raised concerns over what he described as an excessive tax demand from the Lagos State Government.
Speaking during a recent livestream with singer Peruzzi, Peller revealed that the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) had asked him to pay ₦36 million as income tax.
“Taskforce said I should pay ₦36 million for tax. I don’t have anything. I just came into the limelight last year,” he lamented.
Peruzzi, in response, questioned why Peller had not paid his taxes, noting that all Nigerians are required to do so. The singer added that his own tax payments exceed the bill Peller received, and advised him to settle the matter to avoid possible jail time.
Peller, however, argued that the amount was unreasonable, pointing out that the government had never supported him during his TikTok career. He alleged that the tax demand came after he publicly displayed his assets and earnings from the platform.
While Peruzzi urged him to request more time to clear the bill, Peller maintained that his income is generated from social media and not from Nigeria-based activities.
