Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, Phyna, has called for her sister, Ruth Otabor, to be flown to India for urgent medical treatment following a severe accident.
In a video widely circulated online and monitored by PUNCH Online on Sunday, Phyna was seen at the hospital where Ruth is currently receiving treatment. She was accompanied by several representatives from the Dangote Group.
The accident occurred on August 13, 2025, near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State just six days after Ruth’s graduation. The crash left her with life-altering injuries, including the amputation of her leg.
Criticising the quality of care at the local hospital, Phyna expressed her frustration “I am putting my sister as Dangote’s child, because if not, Dangote will not bring his child here; they will fly them abroad.”
When someone present tried to challenge her, she stood her ground, repeating, “Dangote will not bring his child here.”
When asked if she planned to send Ruth abroad, Phyna confirmed “Yes… India.”
Earlier today, Phyna also posted on her X (formerly Twitter) account “Anytime you remember Ruth, please say a prayer for her.”
The Dangote Group has acknowledged the incident, stating that its representatives visited the crash site, collaborated with law enforcement, and met with Ruth’s family at Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.
The company pledged to cover full medical expenses and provide compensation, in line with its internal welfare policy.
Phyna, who rose to fame in 2022 after winning the BBNaija “Level Up” edition with a ₦100 million grand prize, has vowed to pursue justice and ensure her sister receives proper care.
The incident has sparked public outrage, with #JusticeForRuth trending across social media platforms as Nigerians demand accountability and better healthcare.
