Rasmus Hojlund’s time at Manchester United could be drawing to a close, with reports indicating that Napoli are ready to sign the striker on loan with a £39 million mandatory purchase option.
The 22-year-old Danish forward has found it difficult to fully establish himself at Old Trafford, scoring 26 goals in 95 appearances since his arrival from Atalanta.
Despite his potential, United are said to be losing patience, especially after strengthening their attacking options this summer with Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha.
According to Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli are willing to take Hojlund on a season-long loan that includes a compulsory buy clause worth £39m (€45m/$52m). The condition is tied to performance metrics such as goals, appearances, and Champions League qualification.
The move is being further encouraged by former United midfielder Scott McTominay, who now plays for Napoli and has reportedly spoken to Hojlund about joining Antonio Conte’s squad. Napoli are actively searching for a new striker following Romelu Lukaku’s recent thigh injury, which has sidelined him for several weeks.
If the deal goes through, Hojlund could be set for a swift return to Serie A, where he first made his mark before moving to England.
