Nollywood veteran Chiwetalu Agu has publicly dismissed rumors about his death that have been circulating online.
In a video posted on Instagram on Friday, Agu urged fans and family to ignore the false claims. His message read,
“Fans and family, please disregard any rumors about my death, and kindly report the page of the blogger who started spreading them. By God’s grace, I am very much alive.”
In the video, Agu stated “Chief Chiwetalu Agu, okenmiri n’ezoru Oha 1 of Etiti Amokwe, Enugu State, is not going to die anytime soon. Instead, I will be the one to bury my enemies. Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; whoever digs a grave will fall into it. I haven’t even carried my grandchildren yet, and I intend to do so in good health when my children are ready.”
He went on to explain that if the misinformation had come from a major blogger, he would have taken legal action for defamation and economic damages. However, the blogger involved is “still struggling with likes,” so he is not pursuing a lawsuit.
“What puzzles me is that, even in 2025, many people are gullible enough to believe such stories without verifying the facts. Fans and family, please ignore these rumors and call out anyone spreading this malicious news,” Agu added.
This clarification comes after an online blogger falsely reported his death, causing confusion among his fans.
