The Rivers State House of Assembly will resume plenary on Thursday, September 18, following the expiration of the emergency rule declared in the state by President Bola Tinubu.
Sources disclosed that Speaker Martin Amaewhule will preside over the session, which will hold at the Assembly’s Residential Complex along the Aba–Port Harcourt Expressway.
Insight Media gathered that the 27 lawmakers loyal to Amaewhule returned to the state days before the emergency rule lapsed and have been staying within the complex ahead of the sitting.
The lawmakers are expected to hold their first plenary since the suspension of democratic governance in the state.
