Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has addressed recent speculation surrounding her relationship with fellow artist Davido, reaffirming that she holds no animosity toward him.
In a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, Tiwa emphasized that despite the misunderstanding between them, her bond with Davido remains one of mutual respect.
“I haven’t spoken to you, David, but I want you to know that I love you and I would never betray you or take sides,” she said.
Savage confirmed that she filed a police report involving Davido—not out of malice, but as a precautionary step after what she described as a “miscommunication.”
“I think it was a miscommunication,” she said. “Maybe, out of anger, he made some threats. Do I think he meant them? No. But I’m not taking any risks.”
She explained her concern that such threats, even if made in the heat of the moment, could be acted upon by others.
“You might say something around people who are willing to act on it, even if you didn’t mean it,” she added.
Before taking legal steps, Tiwa said she tried to resolve the issue privately by reaching out to senior members of Davido’s family.
“Before I went to the police, I contacted some older members of his family—I’m not naming names—to ask if we could settle things. But no one responded,” she revealed. “Just for the record, I did try to handle it privately first.”
Despite the tension, Tiwa Savage made it clear that she still considers Davido a close brother and has no intentions of damaging their relationship.
