Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage has revealed she is open to becoming a second wife, citing the scarcity of eligible single men as a reason.
Speaking on a recent episode of the American podcast Lip Service, which gained attention on Friday, Savage explained that many of the men interested in her are either significantly older or already married.
“I’m like a sugar mama, but I don’t want to be,” she said. “If I meet someone who can really marry me, they’re either in their 50s or already married. So maybe I can be a second wife. I think so.”
The singer, who has a son from her previous marriage, stressed that she wouldn’t be a problematic co-wife and values peace and mutual respect in relationships.
“I can get along with the first wife. She’ll love me because I won’t be troublesome. I’ll be on tour most of the time, and I’m very respectful. I know she’s the first wife, and I’ll give her that respect.”
Tiwa Savage was formerly married to music executive Tunji “TBillz” Balogun. The couple married in 2013 and divorced in 2018. Their split was followed by public allegations of infidelity from both parties.
