Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Monday presented a ₦891.99 billion budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year to the State House of Assembly in Ibadan.
The new proposal represents a significant increase from the ₦684 billion approved for the 2025 budget.
The budget presentation, which held at the Assembly complex, was witnessed by top traditional rulers, including the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, among other dignitaries.
Giving a breakdown of the proposal, Makinde said ₦389.34 billion is earmarked for recurrent expenditure and ₦502.65 billion is allocated to capital expenditure
On sectoral allocations, the governor explained that infrastructure will receive ₦210.02 billion, Education is allocated ₦155.21 billion, Health gets ₦70.81 billion while Agriculture is allotted ₦19.99 billion. He said other multisectoral allocations amount to ₦435.9 billion
