Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba (popularly known as Mohbad), has stated that his son will not be buried until a DNA test confirming the paternity of the singer’s child is completed.
Speaking in court on Tuesday ahead of the scheduled hearing on the DNA matter, Aloba addressed reporters and court officials, stressing that the outcome of the test is crucial to moving forward with burial arrangements.
“Today is the DNA court case. We are here now, and my lawyer is present. I want the whole world to know that this is the most important issue and the reason Mohbad has not yet been buried. Once the DNA test is conducted, we can proceed with the burial,” he said.
Mohbad, a rising figure in Nigeria’s music scene, died in September 2023 under still-controversial circumstances.
His death has since raised questions regarding the paternity of the child he left behind. Aloba has repeatedly voiced doubts, claiming his son once confided in him about alleged infidelity by his wife, Wunmi, during their courtship.
