Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has approved a minor reshuffle of the State Executive Council as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.

The development was announced in a statement contained in a letter dated January 29, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, and made available to journalists on Friday.

According to the letter, the reshuffle is aimed at enhancing efficiency, improving coordination, and ensuring more effective implementation of government policies.

As part of the changes, Vincent Osas Uwadiae, who previously served as Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Lands and Housing as Commissioner.

In addition, the former Commissioner for Lands and Housing, Yakubu Oshiorenua, has been appointed as the new Chief of Staff to the Governor.

Meanwhile, Gani Audu, who served as Chief of Staff, has been nominated to resume duties as Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, subject to confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.

The reshuffle takes effect from January 30, 2026.

Governor Okpebholo expressed confidence that the adjustments would further strengthen coordination within government, boost policy execution, and promote effective governance in the state.

Since assuming office, the Okpebholo administration has consistently highlighted inclusive governance, improved security, and infrastructure development as key priorities.
