Popular Abuja-based lawyer and public interest advocate, Pelumi Jacob Olajengbesi has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Oriade/Obokun Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
Olajengbesi, who made the declaration in a statement recently, said his decision followed “thorough prayer and deep reflection.”
He said that it was borne out of responsibility rather than emotion.
He pledged to offer himself as a credible alternative capable of delivering purposeful and accountable representation to the people of the constituency.
“In life, we must be bold and courageous enough to challenge the status quo. No individual is more important than the collective will of the people,” he stated.
He added that the people of Oriade/Obokun deserve representation that is present, accountable and committed to measurable progress.
The legal practitioner, known for his advocacy in public interest matters, said his aspiration is driven by a generational resolve to make a difference. According to him, leadership must reflect the aspirations of the people and create opportunities for younger generations.
“We are a generation determined to make a difference. We believe leadership must reflect the aspirations of the people and open doors of opportunity for our younger brothers and sisters,” he said.
Olajengbesi called on patriots across Ijesa North to rally behind his aspiration, noting that collective effort would be crucial in building a greater future for the federal constituency.
He disclosed that he would be contesting on the platform of the Accord Party.
Olajengbesi had in past shown interest in the Green Chambers, but was persuaded to step down for Wole Oke, who is now a member of the All Progressives Congress.
