Iran and New Zealand shared the points after playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw in a lively FIFA World Cup encounter that delivered goals, momentum swings and a dramatic finish.

New Zealand made the brighter start and struck early to take control of the contest. E. Just opened the scoring in the seventh minute, giving his side the perfect beginning and putting Iran under immediate pressure.

Iran gradually settled into the game and found their response before halftime. Their persistence paid off in the 32nd minute when R. Rezaeian found the equaliser to restore parity and send both teams into the break level at 1-1.

The second half continued at the same intensity, with both teams showing attacking intent.

New Zealand regained the advantage in the 54th minute through E. Just, who completed his brace with another well-taken finish to put his side back in front and raise hopes of securing all three points.

But Iran once again showed resilience and refused to let the match slip away. Just ten minutes later, M. Mohebi delivered the response, finding the net in the 64th minute to level the score at 2-2.

Both sides pushed for a late winner in the closing stages, but neither could produce the decisive breakthrough as the match ended in a share of the spoils.

The result leaves both teams with a point after an exciting contest that showcased determination, attacking quality and plenty of World Cup drama.
