President Bola Tinubu has felicitated Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, urging them to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The President said the celebration should go beyond commemorating the birth of the Prophet by providing an opportunity for Muslims to reflect, pray and draw lessons from his exemplary life.

Tinubu’s message was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, titled, ‘Eid-el-Maulud: Tinubu Urges Muslims to Imbibe Virtues of Prophet Muhammad.’

The President encouraged Muslims to make conscious efforts to uphold the teachings and values demonstrated by Prophet Muhammad, particularly devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness.

He said, “The Muslim faithful should make a deliberate effort to adhere to the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.

“There are great lessons of devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness that we can all learn from the life of the Prophet.”

Tinubu also urged Islamic scholars and religious leaders to use the occasion to pray for the peace and progress of Nigeria while encouraging their followers to translate the Prophet’s teachings into positive contributions to the country.

He called on Muslims celebrating the occasion to extend kindness and support to the less privileged and vulnerable, stressing the importance of compassion and generosity during the Maulud celebration.

The President further urged Nigerians to pray for an end to insecurity and other challenges affecting parts of the country.

He expressed hope that the lessons of Prophet Muhammad’s life would inspire greater unity, peaceful coexistence, compassion and commitment to national development.
