Nollywood actress Adebimpe Oyebade Adedimeji popularly known as ‘Mo Bimpe’ has opened up about the emotional struggles she experienced while waiting to become a mother, revealing that she was sometimes deliberately excluded from baby showers, naming ceremonies and children’s birthday celebrations because she had no child of her own.
The actress shared the experience in a social media post while encouraging women who are currently waiting and trying to conceive not to lose hope.
According to Bimpe, one of the most painful parts of her journey was discovering that some of the people who shut her out were individuals she knew personally and genuinely cared about.
“There was a time when I wasn’t invited to baby showers, naming ceremonies, children’s birthdays, or anything related to kids,” she said.
Bimpe said the exclusion was particularly painful because she had always loved children and wanted to be part of such celebrations, rather than be treated differently simply because she was yet to have a child.
She urged people to be more sensitive towards women who are waiting to become mothers, stressing that childlessness should never be a reason to isolate or exclude anyone.
“Please don’t make it harder by excluding people. A woman without a child is not less deserving of love, friendship, inclusion, or celebration,” she said.
Looking back at the difficult period, Bimpe said her own story eventually changed in a way she could hardly have imagined.
“There was a time I had no child. Today, I am a mother of triplets,” the actress said.
Her words reflected the remarkable journey from the loneliness and hurt she experienced while waiting to the joy of welcoming three children.
Bimpe therefore encouraged women who are still hoping and praying for children not to give up, using her personal experience as a reminder that circumstances can change.
“The same God who remembered me has not forgotten you,” she added.
The actress’ testimony has resonated with women going through similar experiences, as she urged them to hold on to hope and reminded others that a woman’s worth should never be measured by whether or not she has children.
