The Osun State Signage, Hoarding and Advertisement Agency has described as malicious the allegations by the candidate of the Social Democratic Party, Architect Goke Omigbodun over removal of some lampposts within Osogbo.

Omigbodun has in a video on his social media page accused the Agency of intentionally removing his lampposts across Osogbo while leaving others political parties.

Reacting to the allegations, the Agency in a statement obtained by InsightMedia on Wednesday said the lampposts removed were at unapproved locations.

The statement signed by Hon. Muyiwa Olufajo, the O’Signage Consultant to the State Government said the Agency doesn’t deal directly with individuals but practitioners.

The statement by Olufajo read, “The attention of the Osun State Signage, Hoarding and Advertisement Agency has been drawn to the malicious and spurious allegations made by the candidate of the Social Democratic Party in Osun Central, Mr Goke Omigbodun over enforcement carried by men of the agency.

“While we may not be interested in joining issues with Mr Omigbodun, we believe the public that we serve deserves to know the true state of the enforcement. Hence, the need to state the following facts.

“The Agency deals directly with practitioners and not individuals. We know Mr Omigbodun is not a practitioner.
2. To place a lampposts, a practitioner will apply to the Agency and we do not have record of such applications or approval for the lampposts with Mr Omigbodun’s pictures.

“Our enforcement team only removed only eight lampposts with Mr Omigbodun’s pictures during our routine enforcement exercise on Tuesday 20th October, 2026. Information has it that Mr Omigbodun erected over 40 lampposts within Osogbo metropolis.

“We call on Mr Omigbodun to approach a practitioner, makes applications and get necessary approvals before erecting any lampposts in order not to erect on wrong places.

“We wish to state that the Agency will continue treat all candidates equally and give them equal opportunities.

“The Agency will do everything within its powers to ensure things are done rightly.”
