Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has threatened legal action against bloggers, social media users and content creators accused of spreading false and damaging reports about her.

The actress, through her legal representatives, issued a cease-and-desist notice dated November 5, warning individuals and media platforms to stop publishing or circulating unverified claims capable of undermining her reputation and professional image.
Abraham shared the legal notice on her X account on Thursday, urging members of the public to read its contents carefully.
The notice, signed by her lawyer, Tope Salami, described the alleged publications as “untrue, misleading, unsubstantiated, and capable of damaging her professional personality, image, personal integrity, and general goodwill.”
Her lawyers demanded that those involved immediately stop publishing, reposting or promoting the alleged defamatory materials. They also called for the removal of existing posts, videos, comments and other online content containing the disputed claims.
The legal team warned that anyone who continues to circulate such material after receiving the notice could face legal action. It also disclosed that relevant social media posts, videos and other digital records would be preserved as evidence for possible court proceedings.
The lawyers further argued that freedom of expression does not give anyone the right to spread false information or unlawfully damage another person’s reputation and business interests.
The development comes amid renewed online discussions involving Abraham and fellow Nollywood actress Funke Akindele.
In October 2026, an alleged private audio conversation involving Abraham and a TikTok user identified as Bisgold circulated on social media, triggering widespread reactions over remarks reportedly made about Akindele. However, the authenticity and full context of the recording were not independently established.
The controversy has kept the actress in the spotlight, with her legal representatives now calling on the public to exercise restraint and verify information before sharing it.
They urged bloggers, influencers and other content creators to ensure that any future reports or commentary about Abraham are factual and supported by verifiable evidence.
