The Chairman of Irepodun Local Government, Ilobu Hon Abayomi Oyedeji has urged the corps members of National Youths Service Corps posted to the local government to always remain safe and security conscious at all times.
Oyedeji stated this on Thursday during a security sensitization programme organised by corps members in Ilobu held at the local government conference Hall.
He stated that Ilobu remains peaceful and the people of the community are hospitable, accommodating and lovers of foreigners, most especially the serving corpers.
The Council Boss urged the corps members and indeed, the community at large to remain safe and be ready to offer credible information to the security agents to forestall security breaches. He assured that the local government under his leadership will ensure that adequate security are provided for all the residents of Ilobu at all times.
Earlier in his address, the Outgoing Corps Liaising Officer, Mr Olawale Odugbola said the motive behind the programme is to sensitize the corps members on how to tackle security breaches that may arise at any time during their service year.
He charged his colleagues to ensure that security of their host community is everyone’s business, hence, the need to volunteer useful information to the security agents to arrest ugly circumstances.
Among those invited to the programme were the Divisional Police Officer of the Nigerian Police, Ilobu Division, Director of Department of State Security and the Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Irepodun.
