The Deputy Governor, State of Osun, Mr. Benedict Olugboyega Alabi has felicitated with his principal, Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the entire Muslim community in the state, both at home and in diaspora on the celebration of Eid il Maulud.
The Deputy Governor in a congratulatory message to all muslims on the celebration of the birth of Prophet Mohammed, issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Sunkanmi Ajiboye, described the birth of the holy prophet Mohammed as a landmark and significant gift to the world by the Almighty Allah.

He enjoined all the Islamic faithful to continue to abide by the dictates of Allah as contained in the Holy Quran and follow the steps of the Holy Prophet Mohammed as contained in the hadith for them to be a complete Muslim.
Mr Alabi, who also stressed the need for all the muslims in the state to continue to live in peace and harmony with their fellow human beings said “peaceful coexistence with Other fellow human beings, tolerance and respect for others’ religions should also be allowed at all time as preached by Prophet Mohammed.”
The state Deputy Governor also called on Muslims and non Muslims in the state to continue to support the present administration under the leadership of Governor Gboyega Oyetola with their prayers, cooperation and play their own part for the administration to succeed and to be able to fulfill its promises made to the people.
“The birth of Prophet Muhammed (SAW) marks a major landmark and a significant gift to the world by the Almighty God. He came, preached peaceful coexistence with fellow human beings and respect for others’ religions.
“I enjoin you all to not only preach via the Qur’an alone as left by the Prophet, but you should emulate his deeds as left in the Hadith to be a complete Muslim.
“For a very long time, the state had missed out in critical areas of development. Since the progressive government took over some nine years ago, we have started experiencing more dividends of democracy. With the leadership of Governor Oyetola in place, my prayer is for God in His infinite mercy to grant him good health and wherewithal to realize his lofty dreams for the state.

“We should all pray and be ready to cooperate with him, play our own part; with the cabinet, the Government is ready to move from different angles to ensure poverty is banished for ever from the state.”, Mr Alabi said.
