The Senator representing Imo North senatorial district in the Nigerian Senate, Benjamin Uwajumogu has been declared dead.
The senator reportedly died in the early hours of Wednesday, December 18 after he slumped in Abuja.
The senator who is a former Speaker of the Imo state House of Assembly is a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Uwajumogu was a ranking senator in the upper chamber as this was his second stint in the Senate.
His last outing in the Senate was on Tuesday, December 10 when he raised a petition on behalf of a constituency member on his reinstatement into the Nigerian Army.
