Osun State Government on Thursday drove back two buses conveying northern passengers into state.
This occurred barely 24 hours after the state raised the alarm over an influx of Zamfara youths into the state despite the lockdown order.
It would be recalled that the Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Gboyega Oyetola, Prince Abdullahi Binuyo on Wednesday raised alarm over the influx of some strangers from Zamfara state into Osun despite the ongoing lockdown.
It was gathered that the buses conveying the northerners wanted to enter the state through Ilesha/Akure Expressway around 3:15pm, but were sent back by the Ilesha North Local Government COVID-19 Task Force with the help of security agents at the boundary.
When the council Chairman, Mr. Oladipupo Adeniyi, was contacted, he confirmed the incident.
He said, “We did not allow the two buses conveying northern passengers to enter our state. We sent them back to where they were coming from.
“We will not allow any passenger to enter the state for now. The security operatives manning our boundaries are performing well.”
