The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has identified three major reasons candidates may not find their names on the board’s matriculation list.
JAMB explained the issues in an explainer video posted on its official X account on Friday, describing the first as the most common reason and the third as the most important.
According to the board, one of the common reasons is that candidates may have failed to accept their admission on the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), or their admission status may still show “not admitted.”
“Number one is the most common, while number three is the most important. You have not accepted your admission on JAMB CAPS or your admission status reads not admitted,” the board stated.
JAMB advised candidates whose admission status is still listed as “not admitted” to return to their institutions and ensure that their admission is properly processed.
“If it reads not admitted, return to your institution to process your admission,” it advised.
The board also explained that candidates could be missing from the matriculation list because their institutions had not forwarded their verified matriculation details to JAMB.
“Your institution admission office has not forwarded your verified matriculation details to JAMB,” the board said.
Candidates affected by this issue were advised to contact their institutions and ensure that their admissions are properly processed through CAPS.
JAMB further listed failure to print the original JAMB result slip and admission letter as another reason a candidate’s name may not appear on the matriculation list.
“You have not printed your JAMB original results slip and admission letter,” the board stated.
It advised candidates who had not obtained the documents to visit the nearest JAMB office or an approved Computer-Based Test centre to have them printed.
“So visit the nearest JAMB office or approved CBT centre and get it printed,” JAMB advised.
The board urged candidates to ensure that all admission requirements are completed and to follow its official social media platforms for further updates and guidance.
